By now it is likely you’ll have already heard about the recently passed Commerce Tax, a new bill signed by Governor Sandoval in June of 2015.
To give a brief re-cap, the tax applies on an entity-to-entity basis on each business whose Nevada gross revenue in a taxable year exceeds $4million dollars. You can read more about the Commerce Tax in our blog, here
If this new tax bill applies to your business, The Nevada Department of Taxation has issued a chart outlining and explaining the commerce tax registration process. At the end of March, or the beginning of April 2016, you should receive a welcome letter containing a Tax ID number that you will need for filing the commerce tax return or claiming exempt status.
